The most beautiful places in the surroundings
If you love the countryside, you can spend some time in the orchard and linger in the open air; you can take part in the apple picking and then taste the fruit you have just picked up. If you prefer spending your time in the mountains, in the woods or if you are more interested in ‘spontaneous herbs’, you can follow us to a cottage at 1000 m altitude, where we grow potatoes and beans.

In Tolmezzo and in its surroundings there are numerous restaurants, pizzerias ("Vesuvio", "Alla Posta"), spaghetti houses ("Antica Osteria Valle"), and taverns. We recommend these restaurants: “Alla Pieve”, “Carnia - Da Modesto”, "Trattoria Al Borgat".
Typical dishes
Frico with potatoes, crumbly frico, game, various types of cheese, brovada or sauerkraut with muset, mushrooms – all these dishes are served with polenta – cjarsons, potato dumplings, pumpkin dumplings served with smoked cottage cheese and ont, soup of beans, omelets with ‘spontaneous herbs’ and tala cu las fricias.
